Mrs Crimble Dutch Apple Cake
This cake is naturally low in fat, and contains and abundance of real fruit, apple and cinnamon to give it a unique taste and a lovely moist texture. This cake can be enjoyed on its own but is really nice with the addition of some dairy free cream or custard. We have also found on our travels that this cake goes particularly well with a glass of traditional cider!
As the cake has a very low fat and moisture content this makes it suitable for freezing which many of our customers often tell us is fine. Whilst this cake is wheat free it is not gluten free as it is made with rye flour which, whilst very low in Gluten when compared to normal wheat flour, is above the levels recommended by the Coeliac Society.
Ingredients: rye flour, glucose-fructose syrup, candied fruit 18% (glucose-fructose syrup, papaya (6%), r orange peel (4%), sugar, water, citron peel (1%), acidity regulator: citric acid), raisins (6%), sugar, spices, almonds (1%), raising agents: sodium hydrogen carbonate, sodium acid pyrophosphate), flavouring.
